Archie The twins gag was
either a comic book joke I missed, or just dumb. You can't be that early on and
know you're having twins.
If Liz can melt the crown, shouldn't
it stand to reason she can melt the army?
A: If you're going to have a bad ass
fight, you want it to be on golden clock clogs. B: Why? A: I don't understand
the question.
If you were an army of robots
capable of regeneration, and didn't have any emotions, why would you toy w/people
by regenerating en masse?
HB's 'Death' that ends up saving his
life, for some reason it reminds me of the reincarnated dude in HGG, who Arthur
kept killing.
The relationship between Nuada and
Nuala though, that's all kinds of Flowers in the Attic. :)
Nuada's rant while he's looking
through the books, so reminds me of Mr. Dark's library rant in Something Wicked
This Way Comes.
Ooooh, imagine this. Red, Abe and
Angel all going to a Manilow concert. That would be hilarious!
I totally dig Seth Macfarlane, but
haven't liked any of the shows he's done. It's weird.
Nuada truly doesn't see the irony of
berating HB for being willing to kill the creatures he uses for his own ends.
Shouldn't age enlighten?
Strauss may redeem himself later,
but I really never got to like him as a character. I guess lack of facial
expression didn't help.
The way Red finishes off Wink, just
demonstrates that he is not the idiot he sometimes puts forward. Which is
another reason I love him.
It almost seems a waste that so much
of the troll market time is spent in a fight scene. The creature work is so
spectacular.
Liz's dialog really is minimal in
the entire movie, yet almost every line is extremely revealing. She's an
amazing character.
I wonder if Ron Perlman actually
likes cats. At this point, he might be quite sick of being associated with
them. :)
I have to wonder. If Nuala was
prepared to die to stop her brother, even at the beginning. Why didn't she just
off herself sooner?
He was, of course, also Wesley's
father on Angel. But that's completely irrelevant in context. :)
Oh wow, I just got that. Roy Dotrice
(King Balfor) was Vincent's 'father' in Beauty & the Beast. Nice throw in!
See, in reality, if Hellboy came out
of hiding, he'd be surrounded by uber geeks who adored him 24/7. There'd be
nothing but creepy love. ;)
It almost seems wrong to even send
in humans with the team. They really can have no chance in a lot of these
situations.
Flying piranha, yeah that's pretty
much the nastiest thing I can imagine.
If I read comics, I would probably
devour Hellboy.
& for a guy who loves a fight,
man can HB avoid confrontation. :) Relationship gold here. I should model my
backwards romcom after he & Liz
Liz and HB, talk about a perfect
match. She can completely lose her temper without killing him. Pretty much only
guy for her. :)
Jeffrey Tambor; another man who is
way too good at being funny and officious at the same time.
Do killer crawly things in movies
always look like spiders, because spiders scare us? Or is that why spiders
still scare us?
Making the crown piece lot 777 in
the auction, was an inspired little tidbit.
I find it interesting that Nuada and
Nuala look like a cross between the LOTR elves and orks. Even makes Nuala look
pretty and creepy.
One thing I adored from the first
movie, is Hellboy's relationship with Father. I'm glad they found a way to
harken back to it in the sequel
The opening flashback demonstrates
what is coolest about Hellboy; he's still a large adolescent.
Ok, starting Hellboy II. Let's just
start off by pointing out that Ron Perlman rocks in everything, and Hellboy
would kick Vincent's ass. :)
And the winner is Hellboy II: The
Golden Army! Starting momentarily...
