Archie warning
Wanda, to behave from now on, validates every time he's naive in the movie.
Kind of shows they're on equal footing now.
And Cleese is
concerned about US audience reactions to the Vietnam stabs by Archie. Somehow,
I don't think his audience would take offense.
And I love that
Stephen Fry doesn't even give a funny reaction in his little part. He's just
kind of oblivious.
The moment Cleese
fully gives in to Wanda, after realizing what a con artist she is, is telling.
He can't trust her, but he doesn't care.
I love Cleese's
reasoning behind Miranda's "in your bottom" line. She's so angry she
wants to curse, but doesn't seem to know how. :)
Huh, interesting.
It seems that other people with breathing issues are disturbed by Palin and the
pear. A tad claustrophobic myself.
Huh, genuinely
never realized where Otto gets the bed warmer before now. <3 Cleese refers
to it as a bed pan. Imagining US cast set giggles.
One of the most
unusual things about this movie, is just how much it is driven by Wanda. Jamie
is this commanding presence herding the men.
And incidentally,
this commentary is also remarkably educational. He has an amazing breadth of
knowledge on comedy.
I imagine working
on a Cleese movie would be so remarkable. You can tell he really knows how to,
and enjoys, working with other actors.
Cleese actually
took an acting move from someone on Outrageous Fortune. Now I'm dying to know
who it was.
Something else cool
about AFCW; Cleese doesn't make the robbery/getaway look complicated, just for
affect. Lots of writers would screw it up
I love that Cleese
chose to cast Jamie Lee Curtis based on seeing her in Trading Places. Those two
movies did so much for her career.
I have decided;
barring a brilliant idea popping in my head, not writing tonight. Instead,
listening to Fish Called Wanda audio commentary.
