Archie warning Wanda, to behave from
now on, validates every time he's naive in the movie. Kind of shows they're on
equal footing now.
Call me arrogant; I could've so
written a better speech for Morgan Freeman in the end. The 're' thing gets dumb
by the end.
Yeah, the astronauts saying goodbye
to the families makes me cry every time, even if I manage to avoid it through
most of the movie.
FYI - The DVD cut of Deep Impact
does not remove the WTC towers from NYC. Because when you CGi them out, the
terrorists win.
I really do like LeeLee in this
movie, but when Sarah is trying 2 refuse leaving her parents, even to save her
baby sis, wanna slap her.
I love the look on Tea's face when
she sends the helicopter off without her. Because the instant you did it, you'd
momentarily regret it.
There's an extra on the DVD, that
shows how they filmed the traffic jam scene. It was pretty impressive. 1000s of
Xtras.
They gave GWB credit 4 keeping us
2gether post 9/11. If he'd had to tell 1/5 of the country they were die, he'd
have shite himself.
Richard Schiff also seems doomed to
be underused since West Wing went off. Which annoys me to no end.
And for the record, Tea Leoni needs
more jobs like this. She plays sad on such an interesting level, lacking
superficial sentimentality.
Ok, at this point in the movie, we
needed more Dougray Scott. At least a little eye candy would stop me from
getting all faklempt.
According to a BTS, lots of Leo
& Sarah's relationship was cut. Would like to see it. Their affection is
implied but ill-defined.
Truly don't get why Sarah's dad
figured his family was on the preselected list. I mean, Leo's family made some
sense. Ok, I guess it didn't.
Why is it always the portly
astronaut who gets shot off into space?
And what Deep Impact really teaches
us; if you don't send Bruce Willis to destroy it, you're just going to piss it
off.
And when is someone going to take a
WMD and invent something highly useful for it to do. They do it in scifi
movies!
It's interesting that they play the
bulk of the characters so confident we'll survive, that they get worked up on
personal dramatic crap.
Whenever I watch 1 of these disaster
movies, I always think; imagine the poor sclub who never turns on the TV or
goes out when news breaks.
I swear, when Tea is looking up
E.L.E. on the net, the bizarre lack of results doesn't even occur to me. My
heart sinks with hers.
Laura Innes is really great at
playing a boss you can't completely hate, but still want to slap on a
semi-daily basis.
Note to scientists; if you discover
something that threatens the entire planet, drive carefully when carrying the
evidence.
Ok, I've decided to do a
TweetsAbout, rather suddenly. :)
I'm about to watch Deep Impact. I'm
not sure why. I really am not in need of a good cry. Plus, it might kill my
buzz.
